Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The free plan runs a real class for a whole term: several published courses, hundreds of students each, and unlimited sections, sessions and staff. If you go over a limit you get a notice and a grace period, and a live lab or a student check-in is never cut off.
Do students need to install an app or create an account?
No app, ever. Students open a link or scan a QR code on any phone or laptop. You choose whether they just type their name, use their email, sign in, or must be on your roster.
Does it work with Canvas?
Import your roster from a Canvas gradebook export or Canvas SIS files, and export check-offs in Canvas’s gradebook import format, one column per lab.
We have many sections, TAs and instructors. Does that work?
That’s what it’s built for. Add sections, limit each TA to the sections they run, generate weekly sessions from each section’s schedule, and give co-instructors their own access.
Who can see student information?
Only the staff of that course. Public queue screens can show numbers instead of names, school email domains grant nothing on their own, and every staff action is recorded in a tamper-evident log.
Can I use it for tutoring, office hours or a K-12 class?
Yes. A course can be as simple as a title. Anyone can sign up with any email, including Gmail, and use a personal workspace.
